Melbourne Coffee Merchants ( MCM )

Melbourne Coffee Merchants (MCM) and Market Lane Coffee are sister companies. While they have the same founding principles – of traceability, transparency, seasonality, quality and sustainability – they operate independently. Melbourne Coffee Merchants came first, and was founded by Fleur Studd and her dad, Will Studd. MCM was the first importer to bring high quality, fresh crop, specialty-grade green coffee into Australia. One year after setting up MCM, Fleur co-founded Market Lane Coffee – a roaster and retailer – with coffee expert Jason Scheltus. This provided the opportunity to educate consumers about coffee, helping to agitate Australia’s established

coffee culture and redefine what coffee is and can be. Today, Melbourne Coffee Merchants supplies green coffee to Market Lane. While the businesses operate fully independently of each other, and Market Lane is a customer of MCM, there are crossovers between the two entities. This provides added value to the MCM model and, ultimately, to our MCM customers.

Melbourne Coffee Merchants has access to an extended team of experienced coffee professionals, who are an active part of the MCM and Market Lane Quality Control programs and help to critically evaluate the coffees we source. This provides MCM with a rich and varied resource of trained palates and perspectives to help us refine our product. It also makes our sourcing model more sustainable as each member of the team is responsible for nurturing and looking after one particular origin.

Back then when we worked in coffee company in Australia we feel lucky we have good relationships with MCM .This project been discussed for awhile MCM gave us a lot of suggestions and keep updated we
